Environmental permitting for construction and operation of the space fence radar system was authorized in September 2014 with issuance of DEP-13-002.0, Construction and Operation of Space Fence Radar System. DEP 13-002.0 was subsequently modified in July 2015 and June 2016 to reflect updates in the design. The USAKA Environmental Standards (UES) section 2.7.1.1 requires submittal of an updated inventory of stationary sources of air pollutants upon completion of any new DEP that includes new stationary sources. DEP-13-002.0 includes stationary sources of air pollutants thereby requiring submittal of an updated inventory of stationary-sources.
